Tim Nikolsky--Guitarist of Champions
Tim is a versatile and passionate musician, bringing great skill and creativity to his music. He is a highly accomplished guitarist and double bass player as well as being an arranger, composer and music teacher.
With a degree and two advanced diplomas in music and related fields, his artistry is underpinned by extensive knowledge and understanding of his craft. Tim has performed at some of Australia's most prestigious venues, including the Sydney Opera House and Melbourne Concert Hall, and with equally esteemed ensembles, including the Australian Pops Orchestra.
Tim performs regularly alongside his wife Margot Leighton (another Jazzopoly artist), with whom he has also released several CDs. Their most recent album, Redemption, was released in May 2011. Tim also regularly gigs and collaborates with many other well-known Melbourne artists and has performed at the acclaimed Wangaratta Festival of Jazz. Tim is currently completing his PhD, which has seen him produce the groundbreaking Australian Jazz Real Book.
